Karina Beumer takes up this issue. On the occasion of the launch of the second season of “how to become” and to celebrate one year -12 issues of this magazine, I called Karina asking her if she would be interested in interviewing me and collaborating with me on a review of previous editions!?! Embracing the invitation, she suggested that we keep a form of correspondence while we were at a distance (Syros <-> Antwerp) and work towards a meeting where she would put all the pieces together: 4 January 2023. In the meantime, she created a series of drawings with images I shared with her, people I worked with, animals, plants and places, portraits of the environment that came out of the conversation/interview we created together…

how to become… series was initiated by Ersi Varveri as part of the research project ‘one space becoming another’ (2020-2022) connected to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp.
