Rien’s partner, Lynn, brought a calligraphy drawing pad from China. With just a brush and water, we created drawings that had the deep, bold feel of black ink but vanished after a few minutes. These drawings were inspired by primates and other animals that instinctively hide from humans as quickly as they can. We captured them by photocopying each one before they disappeared.
