On seasons, rituals, harvesting
Celebrating ‘seasons, rituals, and harvest’, we presented our annual tradition: the fig jam.

Over the past five years, making jam has been both a creative artistic experiment and a vital way to support our work.

Each edition is also a creative venture, with the label designed by a different artist. This year’s label was created by Giulia Palomba, an artist, friend, and recent fellow islander.
For the label she made a sequence of pictures, capturing the motion of harvesting figs—making each label unique with a different image.

Over the course of two days, we shared footage of the harvesting and jam making process, with moments and stories from years past.
We organized a hands-on packaging workshop! Visitors had the opportunity to create their own gift wrap, experiment and explore our collection of stamps, boxes, paper and other materials.

Our publications with a curated selection of publications and books from our library were available for exploration.

We lit the wood stove and welcomed winter together.
Over the weekend we also baked fresh bread on the stove to serve alongside the jam.
